PCI-6509

The NI PCI-6509 industrial 96-channel digital I/O board for PCI features 96 bidirectional digital I/O lines with high current drive capability (24 mA) and is completely jumperless. With the PCI-6509, you can input and output at 5 VDC digital levels and directly drive external digital devices such as solid-state relays (SSRs) with current up to 24 mA per channel. You can configure each port (eight lines) for input or output, and no external power supply is required for outputs.

Using programmable power-up states, you can configure the initial output states in software to ensure glitch-free, safe operations when connected to industrial actuators (pumps/valves/motors/relays).

For applications that require onboard pull-up resistors, consider the NI PCI-DIO-96 parallel digital I/O board.

If a computer or application fault occurs, the PCI-6509 can use digital I/O watchdogs to switch to a configurable safe output state to ensure detection and safe recovery from fault conditions when connected to industrial actuators. With change detection, the digital I/O board notifies and triggers your software application when a digital change of state occurs (without polling). Programmable input filters eliminate glitches/spikes and provide debouncing for digital switches/relays through a software-selectable digital filter.

NI-DAQmx software technology includes the DAQ Assistant to create your application with no programming. NI-DAQmx makes it fast and easy to configure your device and take advantage of all the high-reliability industrial features in NI LabVIEW, ANSI C, Microsoft Visual C++, or Microsoft .NET languages (C# and Visual Basic .NET).
  • 96 bidirectional digital I/O lines, 5 V TTL/CMOS (line direction selectable on an 8-bit port basis)
  • High-current drive (24 mA sink or source)
  • Programmable DO power-up states, DIO watchdogs, change detection, programmable input filters
  • NI-DAQmx software technology for highest productivity and performance (NI-DAQmx 7.1 and later)
  • Low-cost solution with advanced features for manufacturing test and industrial control applications
